Eventing is back (nearly)!
We have been doing lots of training over the last few months and now Eventing has got the go ahead I am really looking forward to finally getting back out on an actual XC course!
Since lockdown first eased, and we were allowed out to training, I have been very lucky to have regular lessons with Rhian Jones and Richard Waygood. Last weekend we also had a trip up to Pippa Funnell’s with 3 horses for two days of lessons through the Windrush Foundation. This was an amazing experience and we certainly got put through our paces – we also have lots of homework to take away! Some of that homework was to have regular lunge sessions without stirrups (nobody’s favourite ha) – so today Rhian gave me a lunge lesson that wasn’t quite as painful as I thought it would be. Joking aside this is a really useful thing to do and improved my position in one session.
The yard also has some new arrivals to welcome which has meant our lockdown project of building two new stables has come in handy! I have planned to take some of the young horses for their first run at our local event Dauntsey Unaff, followed by Bicton and Dauntsey BE…
Hopefully we’ll have some good results to report back next time I blog!
