Unfortunately our 2020 season finished earlier than planned as our last event at Little Downham was abandoned due to the weather. So sad for the organisers, who have had such a difficult year.
Most of the horses are now out on holiday and having some well deserved down time. Whilst they haven’t done as much as they would have done in a ‘normal’ year, they were all kept in full work during lockdown so now seems a good time to let them have more time in the field getting fat and fluffy. This has allowed us to do lots of yard jobs that have needed doing – painting, pressure washing all the stables and sorting the lorries have been top of the list!
We have some young horses that are back in work after having an earlier holiday. It’s great to see how different they are after some time off and feel how much stronger they have become.
It won’t be long till all the horses are back in work and ready for a winter of Jumping and Dressage ahead of next years season.
A massive thank you must go to the amazing team I have around me – grooms, farriers, vets, physios, owners, sponsors, family and friends. I couldn’t do it without you! I am also hugely grateful to the Windrush Programme for all their support and help over what has been a strange year.
Here’s to hopefully an exciting year in 2021!
